This is a beautiful restored 1950-51 Mercury Deluxe Hi-Fidelity radio made by Colonial. The radio plays, sounds and functions great. It has beautiful original chrome knobs and very nice original black knobs and push buttons. It is ready to install. Please read description for more details.

This is a beautiful restored 1950-51 Mercury deluxe Hi-Fi radio manufactured by Colonial. Servicing of this radio included cleaning and lubrication, new capacitors, great working vibrator, tested tubes, new fuse link with fuse and eye terminal (for easy installation) and two working dial lamps. All of the mechanics function smoothly including the station presets, station selections and manual tuning. The radio plays and sounds great with excellent reception and sensitivity up and down the tuning scale with good tone and strong volume. The four stage tone control (lo noise, hi fidelity, bass, normal) functions fine and adjusts the tone accordingly, as it should. Not only does the radio play well but it is in beautiful cosmetic condition with excellent original knobs, polished push buttons and very nice chrome rear knobs. Tesla Model S charging system may have started garage blaze

A fire department in Southern California said a garage fire may have been caused by an overheated charging system in a Tesla Model S sedan, in the latest link between the top selling electric car and the potential for fire. While Tesla Motors Inc. contends the fire was not related to the car or its charging system, the Orange County Fire Authority said the Tesla-supplied charging system or the connection at the electricity panel on the wall of the garage of a single-family home could have caused the fire.

Lotus Elise Club Racer released for U.K.

Lotus will release a stripped-down version of the Elise, called the 1.6 Lotus Elise Club Racer. However, it will be available only in the United Kingdom. The already scant two-seater loses another 54 pounds with measures such as the use of a lightweight battery, the deletion of sound-deadening material and the removal of the radio speakers.
