This jacket was a promotional item when my husband worked for a Chevrolet dealership.  The Heartbeat of America Campaign was from 1986 to 1993, I believe.  My husband wore this jacket once or twice.  It has been in the closet since then.  Our home is smoke-free, pet-free, and odor-free.  The lining is white flannel and looks brand new.  There is one tiny little bend (for lack of a better word) in the last photo.  It is barely noticeable to the naked eye, much less in the picture, but I'm trying to be accurate about the condition.  There are no tags in the jacket at all and we figure it is sized between large and extra-large.  It measures approximately 27 inches long from the top of the shoulder to the bottom and approximately 24 inches wide measuring from under the arm across the back to under the other arm.  Please email any and all questions!

Design Contest: Michelin Challenge Design announces 2008 theme and call for entries

Tue, 30 Jan 2007

Michelin Challenge Design, one of the world's fastest growing transportation design programs, has announced it will continue its focus on safety in 2008 under the central theme of 'Safety over Size.' The 2008 theme was announced at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, where the Michelin Challenge Design exhibit showcased works from vehicle manufacturers, students, as well as the first full-size concept to be submitted by an independent entrant. Rising energy costs, urban congestion and environmental concerns are all contributing to an increased interest in smaller vehicles, but consumers are often hesitant to consider smaller vehicles due to safety concerns that are both real and perceived. Participating designers are encouraged to 'throw away the book' and to present ideas that enhance the real and perceived safety and security of smaller vehicles through design innovations in areas such as accident avoidance, enhanced driver controls, survivability and visibility.

Ferrari 599 GTO

Thu, 08 Apr 2010

The Ferrari 599 GTO is the third in an illustrious line of Gran Turismo Omologato models from Maranello. It may look like a lightly modified GTB Fiorano, but is, in fact, almost entirely new. The hood's prominent center bulge and aerodynamic wheel disks are a hat-tip to Ferrari's F1 cars, while the contrasting matte black roof and flying buttresses visually lower the center of gravity and break up the 599's mass.
